Topajo is Sophie’s latest personal project. After six years at her previous Lake Joseph property, Sophie and her family decided it was time for another build project. Located at the top of Lake Joseph—as its name would suggest—this vacant lot came up for sale in 2017 with two others beside it. Sophie and her family ultimately purchased the smaller of the three lots, as it offered the best privacy, the most usable shoreline, and the least amount of blasting.

The cottage has been designed in a transitional style; utilizing expansive walls of glass and clean architectural lines, while the exposed rafter tails and shed dormers call upon classic Muskoka charm.
